"Rush in Retrospect", written by Bessie A. Hallock, and published in observance of the sesquicentennial anniversary of the Town of Rush states the following on page 47:

Methodism: The Society at Mann's Corners was formed in 1831. The land for the church was given by Nathan and Nathaniel Greene by deed dated February 4, 1831. The "Stone Meeting House" was erected on this plot on the northeast corner and was used until 1867.

"The Road to Yesterday", by Jeanne M. Yawman, was published in 1993 in recognition of the Town's 175th anniversary. Page 178-179 talks about the Methodists in Rush. The following excerpt is from those pages:
"...A society was formed by Nathan and Nathaniel Greene in 1831, and on February 4, 1832, "The Stone Meeting House" was erected and used until 1867. Eventually, another society was formed known as "The First Methodist Church in the Village of East Rush." A lot was purchased and a church was built just south of where Bock's grocery is today. .... In 1889, the Stone Meeting House at Mann's Corners was torn down and some of the stones were used in the foundation of a new parsonage and barn built on the west half of the parsonage lot (East Rush). The land at Mann's Corners was sold for fifty dollars to W.F. Mann."
